Spring Fling Week “Board Games” April 20th-24th

Monopoly Monday - Dress as an occupation. 

Domino Duo Tuesday - Pair up with a friend and dress as twins.

Guess Who Wednesday - Dress as your favorite celebrity or as a friend or teacher. 

Twister Thursday - Get crazy and dress mix-matched or dress as any of the Twister game colors.

Garces Play Day Friday - Wear running shorts or jeans and a Garces T-shirt for a fun day with your buddy.  Tennis shoes are required.  Don’t forget to wear sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.

Candyland Prom Saturday - Dress in bright colors and come ready to have a gumBALL!

Strength & Conditioning for 6th-8th Graders

Garces Memorial is offering Youth Strength and Conditioning Sessions for all Boys and Girls in grades 6th, 7th & 8th. The sessions will begin Tuesday, March 17th and will end Thursday, April 30th. Sessions will be held every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Night for six weeks (excluding Easter Week - March 31, April 1, & April 2).  Each session will be from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Garces Memorial Strength & Conditioning Facility.  You can preregister for all 18 sessions for $150 or you can pay $10 at the door.  Make checks payable to Garces Memorial. 

All participants must bring a signed and completed waiver:  GMHS Youth Strength & Conditioning Waiver

In the News...
National Signing Day

Congratulations to five Garces seniors who are playing their respective sport in college! All five of them were honored at a National Signing Day ceremony in the Garces gym on Wednesday, April 15th.  Matt Pandol will be on the Trap and Skeet Team for Purdue University, Kathryn VanderPoel will run cross country and track for Mount Mercy University, Nikki Barnes will be on the California State University, San Marcos Track team, Kendall Rudie will swim for John Carroll University, and Hudson Hartley will play baseball for Marymount California University.

Garces Musicians Tour England
Congratulations to Renee Senining, Johann Palo, Natalie Moss, and RJ Senining who were selected to tour England over Easter break.  They played several concerts with the Bakersfield Symphony Youth  Orchestra.  They are pictured below with the Mayor of York after one of their performances. 
Bakersfield Jockey Club Honors Garces Rams

Congratulations to Jonathan Ortiz, Jenna Gorman, and Hudson Hartley who were honored by the Bakersfield Jockey Club for being outstanding student athletes in their respective sport. They were honored at a luncheon on Monday April 13th.  Hudson plays baseball, Jenna plays softball and Jonathan plays golf.
