Garces STEM Engineering Program
An enhanced, cutting-edge high school STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) curriculum is being rolled out at Garces Memorial High School this fall as a result of the school becoming an official Project Lead the Way (PLTW) high school. By becoming a PLTW school, Garces Memorial will begin PLTW Engineering™ this fall with PLTW curriculum and training by PLTW Core Training Instructors.  PLTW Engineering™ is more than just another high school engineering program. It is about applying science, technology, engineering, and math through a project-based, hands-on approach to solve complex, open-ended problems in a real-world context. Students will focus on the process of defining and solving a problem, helping to further develop their critical thinking skills.  There will also be an Engineering and Project Management Club that will have hands on projects and guest speakers from local engineering firms.  The club is a great addition to the Engineering class or for those students who cannot fit the class in their schedule.
